Chilean League set for PES début as NPPA secure two-year deal with Konami

According to reports in South America, Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 will include all sides from the Chilean Primera División.

After telling fans to expect a "brand new Pro Evolution Soccer" for when PES 2014 eventually drops next month, Brandon Cox - Senior Public Relations Manager at Konami - then teased, "hopefully we'll have news on Chile soon". According to Cox, Chile is one of the biggest markets in the world for Pro Evolution Soccer.

But this isn't the first time a Konami employee has hinted about Chile's top-tier. Last week, Konami LATAM Director Erik Bladinieres was asked if there would be any important news for Chile this year. Bladinieres replied "soon... go to Festigame. Perhaps, you'll be surprised".

Hosted at the Mapocho Cultural Center in Santiago, Festigame 2013 takes place between 15th-18th August.

After already announcing both the AFC Champions League and Argentinian League, it sounds like Konami are planning to secure a hat-trick of new licenses in time for their next instalment.

** Update: Wednesday 7th April at 11:32 **

The Asociación Nacional de Fútbol Profesional (NPPA), the official organisers of Chilean football, have confirmed Konami and EA Sports have both secured a two-year deal to include the teams of the Chilean Primera División in PES and FIFA.

Although you can't get more official than confirmation from the NPPA, I still expect Konami wait until Festigame 2013 before making their own announcement.
